Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party 2016

As usual, after the Academy Awards took place Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party, where the ones that had attended the prize-giving ceremony were joined by other celebrities. The party was hosted by Graydon Carter at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

The carpet of the party was a new chance to dazzle and to captivate the audience and the fashion critics. We have to say that some of them had achieved the goal, but others stood halfway. Some of the most outstanding outfits were Jessica Alba in a Roberto Cavalli long-sleeve gown, Miranda Kerr wearing a red Kaufmanfranco dress, Kate Beckinsale in Romona Keveza white gown, Taylor Swift and Lily Aldridge, both wearing black dresses from Alexandre Vauthier, and Alicia Vikander, winner of Best Supporting Actress Awards, dressed in a black sequin Louis Vuitton dress.

Other looks have disappointed us a little bit, for example Diane Kruger’s choice, a red lace Reem Acra dress. The dress didn’t live up to our expectations, having in mind she’s considered one of the best dressed on the red carpets. Others were Daisy Ridley, wearing a Giambattista Valli dress, Amy Adams and Kerry Washington, both in Atelier Versace, Emilia Clarke in MiuMiu, Emma Roberts wearing Yanina Couture gown and Lisa Eisner.

As we said in our past article about the Red Carpet dresses, none of the dresses stands out. The great majority of dresses swing between extreme simplicity and exaggerated details. We hope the next year will be better in that way. Again, we want to congratulate to all the winners.

Oscars 2016

This early morning has been the Oscars 2016, the 88th edition. The Best Actor and Actress category has been for Leonardo DiCaprio and Brie Larson. Best Director has been for Alejandro González Iñárritu. Best Suporting Actor/Actress has been for Marck Rylance and Alicia Vikander. And the Best film has been Spotlight. It has to be said that this Academy Awards has been a little bit strange, some actors and actresses has decided to not assist flattering that there are not enough black actors; this boycott has been leaded by Will Smith. Our intention is to analysis the attires from the assistants. We will say which have been our favourites, which have been excessive and our general opinion of the all night. After this article we will publish another with the outfits from the afterparty.

Charlize Theron with a Dior red dress with jewellery from Harry Winston, Alicia Vikander with a yellow Louis Vuitton dress, the strange Dorith Mous garment, the Armani Prive wear it by Kate Blanchet and Naomi Watts and Tom Ford’s dress wear it by Margot Robbie has been our favourite outfits.

We have also liked some outfits that some of the social media have criticise as dull dresses. We think that sometimes you can wear a dress without any overloaded detail but can be beatiful as well. This dresses are the Chanel’s from Daisy Ridley, the black dress from Marchesa wear it by Isla Fisher. And we cannot omit the amazing Versace wear it by Jennifer Garner.

But there has been ones that we haven’t like. Jennifer Lawrence has shocked us with her Dior dress because in the past Oscars showed a magnify good taste for the clothes, and this year all our expectative has been failed. Heidi Klum wore one dress from Marchesa that didn’t join with her skin like the Givenchy’s dress from Rooney Mara. Kerry Washington dressed by Versace has been for us too much; and Lily Cole with a Vivienne Westwood is over the top with the form and the colour. Olivia Wilde has wear a Valentino; it would be better without the chocker that in our opinion limit the dress. And finally the Cris Siriano dress from Maria Menounos made her look shorter.

And other outfits that has not been amazing has been Amy Poehler with an Andreu Gin, Sophia Vergara with a Marchesa, Liz Hernández dressed by Michael Costello and Louise Roe with one dress from Cris Siriano.

This 88th edition from  the Academy Awards has not been terrific as we though, there has been some oufits that has been for us better than the others but there isin’t the dress of the night. For us this gala has not been one to remember, talking about the garments of course. We want to congratulate to all the winners; they have done a really good job!

Teresa Andrés Gonzalvo new collection

The Spanish blogger Teresa Andrés Gonzalvo has launched her first design collection clothes, in particularly jaquets, with The-Are brand.  It consists in an oversize jacket with dyeing sheep fur in the neck, pockets and/or cuffs.

Each garment with all it materials has been made in Spain. And the medium price is around 125€, so it’s not expensive keeping in mind that all the jackets has been made in our country.  The brand has been announcing the new collaboration through social medias, in particularly, Instagram. Teresa has pose with almost each jacket, and she has made one made to measure, at the back of the jacket we can see her name; Teresa.

For us, the jackets that were out of the stock few hours after putting it on sale, are the best. These ones are the red ones, the white jacket with fur on it pockets and the camel one with fur in the lateral of the jacket.

Moschino SS’16

Jeremy Scott took Moschino to another level when he became the creative director of the brand in 2013. His fashion is known by its references to the pop culture, videogames or the daily life. But if something is sure is that leaves nobody indifferent.

The Spring/Summer 2016 collection remains us of constructions workers or materials they use, such as reflective jackets, “caution” signs or traffic cones. Moreover, the collection makes references to car wash establishments or allusions to consumerism.

In some of Moschino garments appear Powerpuff Girls, elements of Super Mario Bros or Bear Credit Card, which instantly reminded us of American Express.

The English designer always surprises us and we’re always wondering what’s next. Jeremy Scott brings fashion to another level, where daily objects become fashion. Although some of the garments can be funny or original, others can be misunderstand, such as the Fresh couture line.

Street style in the New York fashion week

The New York fashion week started the past 10 of February and is going to finish the following 18 of this month. Nowadays we are seeing the catwalks from different brands and we will post a new article talking about them. But this post is different; here we will analyse what are wearing the bloggers, designers and different people who are attending the fashion week; all of them have in common the passion for fashion. We were unable to attend but we would have loved it, to remedy we are connected all the day with what is happening there.

We have realised that most of the bloggers that go to a catwalk, the clothes that they are wearing are from the same house of the fashion show. Some example is Chiara Ferragni or Kristina Bazan; if the fashion show is from Ralph Lauren; they will wear clothes from this house. Moreover, they use the opportunity to show their Brand, it is the case of Chiara Ferragni and her shoes.

In common, all the people that has assist to the fashion shows have wear clothes with the common characteristics from this Autumn/Winter that we said in our past article. Extra-long coats or XXL Coats, Jackets with sailor inspiration or even Furry Coats and Maxi Waiscoats.

We have seen also that the fashion week has been useful to start with the colour that will be the must in this Spring-Summer; the pale pink. So we can see a mixt between the trendy style from this Autumn-Winter and what would be trendy the following Spring-Summer season.

Accessories have been the must these days; new bags have taken an opportunity to be exposed on the New York streets. We have seen the Puzzle bag from Loewe, the new ones from Moschino, or even one bag that is getting famous that has two eyes from PlayNoMore Brand, it costs 225€ and the second model 268€.

We have seen all this year that it-girls used to wear on her bags a pompon putting up. That all that started with Fendi and it Karlito. In this days we have seen a new alternative; the whole bag is a Karlito.

And we cannot omit the different bags that has shocked us in the good sense of the word. One with a pineapple form, another with a candy, other with tweed material, one with Comococos drawn and there is even one with a bear.

Finally, it has to be said that our favourite “it-girl” is Kristina Bazan, we are in love with all of her outfits. We will add a presentation with some of the outfits that people are wearing in this NY FashionWeek.

080 Bcn Fashion Week

This past week has been the 17th edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week in La llotja del Mar. The 080 Bcn has been divided in five days; from Monday 01 to Friday 05. Each day has had in average 4 catwalks from different brands. We have had the pleasure to attend to some of the shows. The most important have been Custo Barcelona, Sita Murt, Naulover, Yerse and TCN. Each of the shows has showed us that all the clothes have in common some characteristics but of course there has been ones that has surprised us. We will analyse how has been the fashion show, how have we lived it and, of course, which is going to be the tendency in the following Autumn/Winter 2016. Of course we cannot forget to mention that some of the models of the show where too much slim exhibiting an unhealthy body; we think that brands will not have to choose them. With this brands make us think that are a normal body stereotype when they aren’t.

Talking about the catwalk; muted colours are going to leave a mark in the following winter. Black and white, grey, khaki and beige are an example.

But there is one intense colour that has appeared in more than one catwalk, this one is the royal-blue.

And also the brick red.

The second characteristic is the Luxury Sport Style or the Urban style. Two types of clothes that are becoming the nowadays must. It consists of mix casual clothes like Jeans or Sporty jeans with some formal garment. This gives a different touch of glamour to your look. Some of the looks have shocked us; one is from Txell Miras and it nun clothes, another the homage from Miriam Ponsa to the first women aviator and we can’t forget the garment from Carlota Oms who uses the mountain tools and mix them with clothes.

Normally the clothes are simple and minimalist. Without any accessory that fill the garment. Wool, tweed, jacquard, suede and cashmere are the main knittings and materials.

Our favourites catwalks and of course clothes have been the ones from the brands Escorpion, Aldomartins, Lupo, Yerse, Manchén, Justicia Ruano, Sita Murt and the best of all for us has been VM by Sibèria. Here are some of the looks we are in love.

In the show two photographs from different magazines asked us if they could take pictures of our look so we will add what we wore in this 080 Bcn Fashion Week. This one has been our first time in a catwalk. We have reach one of our dreams!

The Chanel shoe that never goes out of fashion

Chanel shoesIn 1925 Chanel launched a low heel beige show with round black toe in order to lengthen the leg and shorten the foot called Slings. Nowadays costs 650€ and we can see that most of the fashion bloggers have them. Are a must for this Fall/Winter 2015/2016. We can find a really similar one in Loéil which cost just 63€.

There is a new branch from Sling shoe called Thigh high boot; and the model Cris Herrmann wears them perfectly.

There is also another type of shoe called Espadrilles, we can find it in three colours; green, red and beige.  And Nina Urgell it’s a blogger who where’s an imitation from Mint&Rose. This one it’s going to be the must for the following Sprin/Summer period.

We are in love with both of them.
